Dali North Passenger Transport Terminal

The North bus station/terminal serves daily bus services to Lijiang and many cities, when we searched for the coach services north bound to Lijiang before we arrived in China, the results showed the East Passenger Transport Terminal and the bus terminal in the new city area.

In that morning during the breakfast time, we asked the locals about where we should head to for the bus service to Lijiang, they all told...Bei Zhan, the North Terminal, so we decided to board the bus service there, and it was not too busy terminal and the service was quite right for the security and services and the good thing was we were satisfied because the destination in Lijiang was close to our hotel there.

The Lijiang bus service also picks up the passenger from Dali Ancient City Passenger Transport Terminal, some passengers were there waiting to board the coach.

Glenfinnan

Recall the stream train on the rail track in Harry Porter movies? Indeed the railtrack is called Glenfinnan Viaduct. In that area there is a nearby Glenfinnan Monument up front of the Loch Shiel.

You may enjoy more historical details of the Glenfinnan area, here Glenfinnan.

ChongSheng Temple and the three Pagodas can be easily accessed by public transport, many buses served this destination and the temple is the terminal stop of the bus, therefore we can board the bus service from Da Li city centre to the temple.

The bus route from the new city area is northwards along the great Erhai Lake which can be easily seen when you are in Da Li, if you travel north, the lake will be on your right hand side.

KMG Kunming Airport and Bus to Da Li

We traveled in Yunnan in the last week of March 2017, the flight was from Old Bangkok airport at Don Meung on Air Asia to the Province Capital Kunming (KMG), the flight time is around three hours between Bangkok and Kunming Chang Sui airport.

Kunming airport to city centre can be transported by buses, underground (Line 6) and taxis. However, I did not try the underground because before we traveled there we checked that the rail link was closed during major expansion of the track services. So if you travel to Kunming you should check the Line 6 service whether or not it is functioning, it links airport and East Coach Station.

The Airport Bus services have two major companies, the cheaper white one or 919 Route and the more expensive Limousine Golden one. We paid about half price on the White service, and we used the B1 service three times, from the airport twice and back to airport returning home once. The service is for West Coach Station, this destination which we really needed to catch the Coach Service to Da Li.

The coach service from Kunming West station to Da Li normally takes around five to six hours to reach the destination.
